“Follow your heart, but take your brain with you.” – Alfred Adler (1870-1937)
The psychotherapist Alfred Adler was the first psychoanalyst to break away and found his own branch of psychology. He called his movement “Individual Psychology” because, contrary to Freud and other psychotherapists of the time, he saw human beings as an indivisible whole. This holistic philosophy is a grounding principle in our Adlerian coaching model. Holding focus on the whole person creates more opportunity for coaching clients to achieve greater synergy, alignment, grounded effectiveness, and fulfillment in their lives and work.
